Customer service and contact
When is customer service available?
Our customer service is available Monday–Friday, 10:00–16:00 Finnish time. The best way to contact us is by email at info@mosaikshop.se. You can also call us on +358 44 246 9244.
Our online store is open around the clock. Email is our primary contact channel. We do not continuously monitor messages on social media and therefore cannot guarantee a reply there.
Where are orders shipped from?
In-stock products are dispatched from our own warehouse in Finland. The current availability of each product is shown on its product page.
If you need a larger quantity of a product, please contact us before ordering so that we can check availability.
Ordering and payment
Can I order without creating an account?
Yes. You can place an order directly through the online store without creating a customer account. Creating an account can, however, make future purchases and viewing previous orders more convenient.
Can I add products to an order I have already placed?
It may be possible if your order has not yet been picked, packed or dispatched. We process orders quickly, so please email us at info@mosaikshop.se as soon as possible.
If the order has already been packed or dispatched, products can no longer be added and a separate order will need to be placed.
Which payment methods can I use?
The payment methods available for your order are shown at checkout. The available options may vary depending on the country, customer and order.
See current payment methods and more information ›
Which currency will I pay in?
Prices may be displayed in a local currency to make shopping and price comparison easier. The final amount and the currency used for payment are always shown before you confirm the purchase.

See countries and delivery options ›
How long does delivery take?
Delivery time depends on the destination country and delivery service. Orders are dispatched from our warehouse in Finland, and estimated delivery times for different destinations are shown on our delivery page.
Busy periods, transport services and other temporary circumstances may occasionally affect delivery times.
How much does delivery cost?
Delivery costs depend on the destination country, delivery method and order. Current shipping prices, available delivery options and any free-delivery thresholds are shown on our delivery page and at checkout.
See current shipping prices and delivery options ›
How can I track my order?
Once your order has been dispatched, you will receive information about the shipment and tracking where available. You can then follow the parcel using the carrier's tracking service.
Can I return an unused product?
Consumers generally have a 14-day right of withdrawal. Please notify us before returning a product. For a standard customer return, the customer is responsible for the return shipping cost.
Please always check the current return and withdrawal terms before sending a product back.
See current ordering, delivery and return terms ›
What should I do if I receive the wrong, damaged or faulty product?
Please contact our customer service before returning the product. If we have sent the wrong item or the product is damaged or faulty, the matter is handled separately from a standard customer return and we will provide instructions on how to proceed.
If the parcel has been damaged in transit, please keep the packaging and take photographs of the parcel and damaged product until the matter has been resolved.
Is failing to collect a parcel the same as cancelling an order?
No. Failing to collect a parcel or refusing delivery is not in itself a notice of withdrawal. If you wish to cancel or withdraw from an order, you need to notify us separately.

Can I buy mosaic on sheets?
Yes. Some mosaic products are supplied on mesh-backed or paper-mounted sheets or in smaller sheet packs. The packaging format is stated on the individual product page.
Can I order larger quantities or receive a quantity discount?
Yes, we also supply materials for larger projects, companies, schools, institutions, courses and other organisations. Our online prices are already competitive, so quantity discounts are not applied automatically.
If you are planning a clearly larger order, please contact us in advance. We can check availability and help you choose suitable products and quantities. Any possible quantity benefit is considered individually.
If an exact colour, finish, size or other characteristic is important for your project, we recommend ordering a small test quantity or pack before placing a large order.

Getting started with mosaic
Is mosaic suitable for beginners?
Yes. You do not need any previous experience to start making mosaics. A small flat project or a ready-made DIY mosaic kit is often the easiest way to begin.
Read our step-by-step guide for mosaic beginners ›
What is a good first mosaic project?
A small, flat project is usually the easiest place to start. A trivet, small decoration or simple DIY kit makes it easy to learn how to position and glue mosaic pieces.
A ready-made DIY kit makes starting easier because the main materials have already been selected for the project.
What do I need for my first mosaic project?
For a simple mosaic project, you will usually need a suitable base, mosaic pieces and an adhesive that works with both the mosaic material and the base. Depending on the project, you may also need mosaic tools and grout.
See what you need to get started ›
Do mosaic tiles need to be cut?
Not always. Many mosaic projects can be created entirely with ready-made mosaic pieces. Cutting and shaping the pieces gives you more freedom when creating curves, details and individual patterns.
Explore mosaic nippers, pliers and other tools ›
Does every mosaic need to be grouted?
No. Grout fills the gaps between the pieces and can give the finished mosaic a more unified surface, but many mosaic projects can be left ungrouted.
Projects with closely positioned pieces, some mosaic lanterns and transparent glass projects can, for example, be left without grout. If you do grout your project, always follow the instructions supplied with the grout you are using.
Is mosaic crafting suitable for children?
Yes, when you choose a product that is suitable for the child's age and the activity is supervised by an adult. Always check the individual product's age recommendation. Small parts are not suitable for children under 3 years.
Cutting mosaic pieces, using sharp tools and grouting should be carried out by an adult.

Adhesives, tools and grouting
Which adhesive should I use for mosaic?
Choose the adhesive according to the base material, mosaic material, shape of the project and where the finished mosaic will be used. A flat MDF or wooden project, glass lantern, mosaic ball, mirror mosaic and outdoor project may require different adhesives.
Compare mosaic adhesives and choose the right glue ›
How do I cut mosaic tiles and pieces?
Mosaic pieces should be cut and shaped with a tool suited to the material. The right tool depends, for example, on whether you are working with glass, ceramic, tile or another mosaic material.
Explore mosaic tools and cutters ›
How much mosaic do I need?
The amount you need depends on the size of the project, the size of the mosaic pieces and the width of the joints. Many product pages include an approximate coverage figure to help you estimate the required quantity.
If you plan to cut many pieces, it is sensible to allow a little extra for cutting waste. We also recommend ordering the full quantity required for the same project at one time to reduce the risk of colour differences between different product batches.
Estimate your material requirements with the mosaic calculator ›
How much grout do I need?
The amount of grout required depends on factors such as the size and thickness of the mosaic pieces and the width of the joints.
Always check the product information and instructions for the grout you choose and make sure you have enough material for the whole project.
Explore mosaic grout and grouting supplies ›
Which grout colour should I choose?
Grout colour has a significant effect on the finished appearance of a mosaic. Grey is often a neutral choice, light-coloured grout can create a softer and lighter overall look, while dark grout tends to emphasise the shapes and colours of the individual mosaic pieces.
If you are unsure, we recommend making a small sample before grouting the whole project.
Indoor and outdoor use
Can mosaic be used outdoors?
Yes, provided that all materials used in the project are suitable for outdoor conditions. Check that the mosaic pieces, base, adhesive and any grout are suitable for the moisture, frost and other conditions to which the project will be exposed.
Where relevant, the individual product page states whether a product is suitable for indoor and outdoor use.
Can mosaic be used in a bathroom?
Many glass mosaics can be used in bathrooms, but always check the suitability of the individual product.
In wet areas, the base structure, waterproofing, fixing material or adhesive and grout must also be suitable for the intended application.
Can mosaic be used as a kitchen splashback?
Yes. Glass mosaic can be a good material for a kitchen splashback because the glass surface is easy to clean.
Also make sure that the base, fixing material and grout are suitable for the location, particularly in areas exposed to moisture.
Is mosaic heat-resistant?
Glass and ceramic mosaic generally tolerate heat well in ordinary mosaic projects, and many products can be used for projects such as trivets. Always check the individual product's intended use.
Acrylic mosaic is not heat-resistant in the same way and should not be used beneath hot cookware or in locations exposed to intense heat or open flames.
Products and material properties
Can I combine mosaic pieces of different thicknesses?
Yes – and we often recommend combining different thicknesses when you want to create a more lively, textured and three-dimensional mosaic surface. Variations in thickness can add structure, depth and character to the finished project.
If you need the surface to be as even as possible, for example on a table top or tray, it is better to choose mosaic pieces with a similar thickness.
If a project containing pieces of different thicknesses is grouted, take extra care during grouting. Remove excess grout carefully so that all the mosaic pieces remain visible as intended and the lower pieces are not covered too deeply.
Can the colour of mosaic pieces vary between product batches?
Yes. Small colour and shade variations can occur between different product batches. We therefore recommend ordering all the mosaic pieces required for the same project at the same time whenever possible.
We aim to show product colours as accurately as possible in our photographs. The actual shade can nevertheless vary slightly when product batches change, and colours may also appear different depending on screen settings.
Should I order a small quantity before placing a large order?
Yes. If you need a large quantity, or if the exact colour, finish, size or feel of the material is important to your project, we recommend ordering a small test quantity or pack first.
This allows you to check that the product is suitable for your project and that its colour, finish and other characteristics meet your expectations before ordering a larger quantity.
If you are planning a larger order, you are also welcome to contact us beforehand so that we can check availability.
Why do some mosaic colours cost more than others?
The price of mosaic pieces can be affected by raw materials, pigments, manufacturing method, surface treatment and production volume. Some colours and special finishes cost more to manufacture, which can be reflected in the product price.
How do I know whether a product is suitable for my project?
Our product pages aim to provide clear information about characteristics such as material, dimensions, thickness, colour, finish, pack size, approximate number of pieces, coverage and suitability for indoor and outdoor use.
If you are still unsure, please contact us. Tell us what you are planning to make, which base you are using and where the finished mosaic will be used, and we will help you choose suitable materials.
