Gold Smalti and Gold Tesserae add a valuable, light-reflecting and luxurious detail to mosaic work. All products in this category contain genuine gold leaf under glass. Gold and white-gold pieces are suitable for art mosaics, icons, restoration work, decorations, borders and small striking details.

Gold tesserae are sold individually as 20 x 20 mm pieces with a thickness of approximately 4 mm. They contain genuine 24-carat gold under glass and have a protective lacquer on the back. The pieces can be cut if needed with mosaic pliers.

Gold Smalti Antique is handmade according to old Venetian tradition. Its slightly crackled surface gives mosaic work a beautiful antique look. The pieces are approximately 10 x 10 mm in size, and the thickness varies around 6–7 mm. Because the pieces are hand-cut, size and shape vary naturally. For cutting, we recommend mosaic pliers or a martellina hammer and hardie.
